Damn that's a killer pen! Is it round or multi-sided? Looks like it is multi-sided and then cast and spun round, but I'm not sure as it's like a possible illusion. Did you have to make your own blank?

Thanks to all who commented.

It is round and my blank. Starts out as a round piece of ebonite, strips are glued on as facets but then filled with CA and turned. No casting is involved. The shell is at the surface of the finished pen with a little CA to keep it all together.

How in the heck did you make the post for the pen stand---Real nice job of working outside the box.
Posts are silver tube cut to length. The cradles are silver strip bent around a mandrel. Then posts are silver soldered to the underside of the cradles. Working on a few more stand designs, but theme is basically the same.
