First whirl with Russian Olive Burl

... and I really like it. What a lovely wood!

An angle-cut piece of Zebrawood turned out okay too...

... as well as some nice BOW...

I finally redesigned my "Available Pens" section of the website too (link in sig).... I've been intending to do this for some time, just never got the proverbial "round-to-it."

I did about 10 slimlines and Euros (to replenish stock before Christmas) in that batch and used woods that I would normally reserve for larger, nicer pen kits. It seems such a shame and a waste to turn away all that beautiful wood and only end up with a slimline! LOL I'd never turned the Russian Olive before but I'll be getting more, I think.

I guess I'm biased, but I like the zebra best too. The burl is also very nice. I wish I could get a nice chunk of that.
