This is my first attempt at casting and turning a gum ball pen. Lessons learned- I need to use a different mold that allows me to better place the gum balls and make resin less transparent. That being said, I'll take this a promising start.

Looks good to me. I would like to see a close up picture of maybe one of the barrels so I can see the detail that I am sure is there.

I like it. Why do you think it needs to be less transparent? I like the depth the translucent colors have. If it's a matter of the tube, that color should only be enhanced by the tube color. Now if it was red, or blue, I could see the need to back paint the blank. Like many of us, I think you're being too hard on yourself. And being that it's your 1st cast of a gumball blank, I think you did great. If it was your 50th cast, I'd think the same.
