Here is my first try at a captive ring .... Special thanks go out to 'jude' for the tutorial, which spurred me on to try this.

Details - Used a skew and a 'dental type' pick to do this.
Curly White Maple with CA/BLO finish.

I just wish I could have cleaned up the top inner part, but I was afraid to have it get any thinner.

Nice job bro!!
I like it alot, might need to try one.

Not where you think I got it! The curly you sent me was nice, but more of a 'golden' color. This is some white curly maple that I picked up in town... WW Depot here cut up about a hundred pieces of this at $1 each. They are NICE. Lots of curl in most of them and a different color base than the ones I got from you.. Both very pretty.

Here is the other curly you sent me (shows the color difference, but the angle doesn't show the curl well.)

WOW,
The stuff you got is really white.
Hmmm might need to have you send some of that, would contrast Bloodwood VERY nicely!!

Turned one of the new Woodcraft Acrylics, I like it so that is great because it opens up alot more colors!

Later bro.
