This is my second attempt at acrylic pens. They are cigar pens using blanks I got at the Houston Woodworking Shows. The first attempt I tried did not go too good. The blank along with the drill bit self destructed when I was trying to drill it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try again or not.

I agree, the bottom two look very nice! I know a certain member from my area who is still waiting to get to his firs successful acrylics (well, at last first in a while) who will probably be jealous. Congrats on sticking with it - looks like it was worth it!

Is that a super cheap drill bit or something? I don't think that I would be buying from that company again... Scary.

From the break it almost looks like it was cast though!

As for the blank, I have had drill bits get stuck in acrylic balnks (first time I did one). It was a devil to get out.

But the two you finished look great. [8D]

Bobby, the pens look wonderful, but the top photo is the one that brings it home. None of us should get complacant about safty in the shop and using our tools.
Thanks for the wake up call.
