After buying a "grab bag" of pen blanks from a local Craigslister, I found one of them to be snakewood. I have never turned anything from that wood, and have heard all the horror stories about it. In some twisted way I was intrigued by the challenge and gave it a shot.

I turned a slimline with Titanium hardware. I figured that if I'm lucky enough to pull it off, might as well have some better hardware on it. I took my time, and carefully worked it. The wood actually turns quite nicely. I ended up with a pen that has no cracks...yet. Thanks for looking.

Cheers.

Hey it looks great. Dont let all the horror storys scare you. Before I started selling wood. I have turned around 100 of these and learned a very good trick after the first one and to this day have never had one crack. I have been turning for 35 years before I started selling it and I still do turn for pleasure. Keep up the good work and dont let snakewood scare you I have helped lots of good friends with it. Rod
