This is the first time I have used snakewood on a pen. The wood is nice to work with on the lathe. It has been a week and still not cracks so I believe this one may survive.;)

I made a navigator pen with snakewood and the cracks didn't show up for about 2 months then it all of the sudden had 3 :(
I hope you have better luck it sure is beautiful. I still have two blanks but am afraid to try it again.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll hold on to it for a while and see if any problems develope. With the drastic changes in weather we have been having in GA, maybe it will be hard on the wood. We have gone from the 70s to the low 20s and back to 60 in about a week - and have had a good bit of rain. Maybe the wood will move enough to reveal any flaws. I have noticed my wood projects have shown a lot of movement. Maybe this will be a good test for the infamous snakewood.[xx(]
