Did my first segmented blank today, it's marblewood and brazilian cherry. Thought that there would be a bit more contrast between them, but not to be.

I wanted to bring the section up on the cap the same way as the body part, but my last scrollsaw blade snapped as I started to cut it and I did it on my little band saw. I'm not as comfortable on that, so I kept it to just a short curve.

Nice thing, I've got as second blank that's just the exact opposite of this one. Maybe a pencil to go along with the pen.

Steve.

Beautiful.

I think the contrast on that pen is fantastic. It's a very classy pen with smooth lines. It makes me want to pick it up and look closer.

Steve, this looks great. If you haven't glued the other blank up yet imagine what a copper or brass separator would look like.

Unfortunately they are already glued, but no biggie. Like I said, maybe make it matching / mirrored pen and pencil set for my desk.

Best part, a coworker has already ordered one in Mahogany and Ebony, and I'll do an aluminum strip separating them. Probably use a Plat / Black Ti Cigar Hybrid for it. Should look KILLER!
