Well this was my first attempt at a segmented pen it is black acrylic/purple heart & Koa.
Picture sucks I now need to buy a camera but my wife already thinks I have taken this HOBBY way too far :confused::eek:

Very nice first segmented pen.

You don't need a new camera. You just need to learn more about it. I think you were way too close. Most cameras have a minimum distance from the object.

Very good, and Mark is right..tough to get that perfect shot....Although, I just recently had a magazine photographer at my house, and while I was spinning a pen at high speed with a chisel, he was photographing the pen. The pen had a picture inlayed into it, and when he snapped the shots, you could see the picture in the pen blank clear as day like the blank wasn't even spinning! My camera would just look like a blurr in that situation...I had no idea a camera could cycle faster than my lathe can spin!
