This is the first time I have used a CA finish and I am happy with the result. I don't do many wood pens but I have become partial to Amboyna Burl. This the second Amboyna Burl that I have done. As I was turning the lower barrel (between centres) about a quarter of the blank blew away at the dark knot and flew all over the shop. I collected all the pieces that I could find and used thin and medium CA as well some of the dust from the lathe to glue it back together. As I contained turning it, I filled in any voids with thin CA and wood dust. I then finished it with one coat of thin CA and five coats of medium CA.
