First Rice Pen

Here is my first Rice pen cast in alumilite
Tricky to finish with CA as several of the Rice kernels fell out during turning!

Interesting medium. You could fill the voids with CA, if you wanted.

I did. - There are no voids in the finish now! Those dark spots are toasted rice kernels!

Cool idea ... are you going to try puffed rice next ??

Now, use colored rice. Use several colors. After dying, mix them and cast.
Do a good turn daily!

Excellent Pen, Keith.
Great Fit, and Finish,
Great Blank, It's just a Shame the Rice didn't behave, even though you gave it Center Stage.
You have had suggestions about Dyeing the Rice, or you could use Black Rice.
What ever you decide to do I know it will very Tasteful.

Toasted Kernels - actually guess it should be toasted grains not kernels - kernel are corn and they would have "popped off"!:biggrin:
toaster oven damage!
