First Random Segment

Inspired by this library article I set out to make my first segmented blank. I started with a pile of cut offs from previous pen projects and epoxied them together into 7 inch sticks. Then I glued 3 sticks together. I inserted roofing flashing between each piece. I then cut out the blanks at an angle across the 3 sticks.

I show a few people at work and they love how it looks and I had several express interest is purchasing one.

I need to figure out a better way to clamp the sticks together. I had several shift on me after clamping before the epoxy set.

I have done similar, but not nearly as good. Straight lines, no sanding dust stain going to lighter wood, nice finish...very nice job.
