This is my first post but have ready plenty from the wealth of knowledge here. I have been doing pens for almost a year but just started with CA glue finishes. This is a slimline and probably the best one I've had so far with the CA glue. Any critiques good/bad are welcome, I'm still learning.

Welcome, Tim. That's a very nice looking pen! I like that color wood with the copper. Nice.

Glad you've finally posted one. Hope to see more.

Below are links to two threads/articles that have lots of information on pen turning. The first one is a very basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. I am sure you know many but this will help with those you don't.

You certainly had fun with that blank while it was on the lathe. Congratulations, it is better than I have been able to obtain.

Nice job! I like the design. Not to busy but detailed. The red colored kit adds to the dark rings. I prefer a thicker pen at the center band like you did. If only they made these colored kits in comfort size center bands. Great start and welcome.
