My wife and I traveled a little north to a small place called unionville, Tn, to meet up with my good friends, David Newbern and Louis Bryant. David wanted to know how to make the pens with rifle casings and deer antler, and I wanted to learn how to do the Pine Cone pens. It was a great trade off. We had a blast. It is easier for me to learn how to do something hands on. Gavid and Louis are wonderful friends and pen turners. Below is my first Pine cone pen. It is on an older Monet kit that I had made and turned the blank off the tube and put the pine cone on it. It turned out great and I am so pleased with it.
This will not be the last pine cone pen. Thanks David for your help.
