Bocote is the other wood. Thanks for the comments. I am having lots of fun. Just got some Cigar kits, and a Chefs Special from Dario.

This is a great site. I have learned so much in a short time.

Good looking pens and the photos look pretty good. The question for you is does the background match reality? If it does, I would suggest using a lighter background. If it doesn't, then you need to adjust either the f-stop or shutter speed.

I was trying to set up a light tent with PVC but ended up with some wrong fittings. Therefore, lighting was direct with no diffusion. It took me awhile to figure out my digital camera; i.e. white balance, etc. I used to take a lot of pictures with film and had a pretty good handle on technique. Now I use digital point and shoot. I ended up just throwing things together last night so I could post some pictures.

Thanks for the background suggestion, I will work on alternatives. Am going to get correct fittings for light tent today.
