First pens out of my new workshop

After a year of working outside on a veranda, I eventually found a space to set up a little workshop.

The first is a Majestic Squire clad in a piece of Skunkbush Burl.

The second is a Lazy S blank I made as a demo at our local pen shop last weekend. It is a piece of Maple with Purple Wood Flat Bean inlays and end pieces on a Gatsby.

Hopefully I can now create all the pens that are stuck in my mind.

Beautiful Pens, Charles.
Love the Majestic Squire, and Skunkbush Burl, what ever it is, it looks Fantastic.
The Gatsby, with the Inlaid Lazy S is Spectacular. I don't know how it was done, but it is Brilliant.
Both Pens have Superb Fit and Finish.
I take it, that this is a "Tempter" of the Standard we can expect from you New Workshop. :biggrin:

Thanks Brian.

It is one of the easiest things to do if you have a table saw. Cut a groove at an angle on all four sides of your blank so that it as deep as half your blank thickness. Fill the groove with a strip as wide as the groove and turn.
