So here is the first couple pens I felt comfortable putting up here. The pair is purple heart that I ran a heat gun over. The second is a curly Koa that I received from Mrburl today.

Sorry for the poor photo quality also, I am new to pictures of pens as I am to turning them.

PS. Mrburl, thanks for the info and advice!!

Very comfortable. I like a thicker pen but all I have is slimline kits. I've only been doing this for about a month now so still learning and haven't done any other kits hers.

See if that works. Almost all I do is Slims, and I've been working on the same problems. Custom centerbands are EASY to do, and make what you want easy to achieve.

You HAVE to share with me how you are coloring the metal work. Your pens are making me question my own skills.

Coloring the metal work? All they are is regular plating and a few were enameled before I bought 'em. Most of my custom centerbands are either acrylic or PR.
