Inspired by RHossack. Not sure what the wood is. Found it in a box of blanks that I set aside. CA Finish.

Interesting Slim. I don't know my woods very well yet. It is just a guess on my part. But, I have a piece of Maple that looks a lot like that grain.

cool pen! is it operated by twisting the nib? How is this done? I am intrigued for sure!!

PS.. Kinda looks like Oak to me to. What we here in Oklahoma would call "Blackjack".

I think you all hit it on the head. I think it is Hairy Oak.

And yes, you operate it by twisting the nib.
