First Lotus

This is my first attempt at a lotus pen. The blank is an opal acrylic from Woodcraft with the inside of the blank painted gold. I need to work on my photo skills (like keeping the shadow from my head out of my pictures) Feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks! The kits are from Woodturners catalog. They're expensive, but they make a great pen.

Nice match up with the blank colors to the kit.

One thing I try to do on these kits is turn more bushing to bushing rather than taper the blank down to the mating parts since they have the gold embelleshment just beyond the mating joint.

The Lotus is a beautiful pen, you's looks very nice, but I would watch the shape, it has alot going on with the embellishments and much shape is a distraction. I sold the first one I made two days after I finished it. CSUSA has some great high end pens, and the kits are top quality.

Great job with that...and i couldn't agree more with the pen blank matching up with the pen blank. Really sets off the blank....
