Here is a very special pen honoring two great Navy ships. I call it the "First and Last Pen". The top half of the pen is from wood that came off the USS Forrestal (CV-59), the world's FIRST super carrier. The bottom is teak wood from the deck of the Heavy Cruiser USS Des Moines (CA-134). The Des Moines was the Navy's LAST all gun Heavy Cruiser.

The pen kit the Atrax Rollerball in Platinum. It is covered with Doctor's Woodshop Pens Plus.

The pen was made for a former Forrestal sailor who who survived the fire and was born in Des Moines.

The Certificate of Authenticity has a photo of both ships refueling.

Beautiful historical pen! The rich dark color of the older wood of the barrel in contrast to the lighter upper cap is striking. Very nice job Larry!! :)
