PICTURES #1 AND 2 PRETTY MUCH TESTED THE LIMITS OF MY ABILITY TO CUSS.
All of you guys making those BEAUTIFUL kitless pens one after another,
which put the idea in my mind in the first place,I hate you!!!!!
Not really, you guys do raise the bar for the rest of us.
Thank You.
This pen is not outside the realm of modern art ugly but it is the first attempt
and the reason that I didn't use a nice blank; I ran out of them!

Before you ask:
No I did not cut the blank with a chain saw!
and No i did not turn it with a wood chisel !
And yes It is not great but it is a start.

Maybe not a chainsaw, but possibly a hammer and chisel  :biggrin: (J/K!)

I think for your first effort you did very well. I'm interested in the nib setup and ink system you used. It looks like you repurposed an older nib. The front section wouldn't be my choice since the metal can be slippery at times, but again, for your very first it's a job well done. I also like the overall shape it has.

Yes it is the pilot,I turned the housing from aluminium and opened the front just enough for the nib, I like the small design of the unit

the capless pilot nib

here is a picture of the pilot nib that i used in the pen,
Sorry forgot to pull the turned aluminium piece off but you can see where there was a keyway that had to be removed in order to keep
the tube hole at a reasonable size.

Well, not being a kitless pen maker, it may not matter much. But I really like this little pen you made! I like the size, style, colors and everything about it. I'm really impressed! It's quite unique and original.

Well! .... I don't know exactly what to say.... It's a start, and I like the clip, and I like your willingness to go with an original design rather than follow the heard.

All in all, I think we can expect some good things from you, Jart! Let's see some more!
