This is my first Stars and Stipes pen. It was a little challenging. I had two going at the same time, this cigar, and a wall street II. While working on the WS, being extremely careful putting in the stars, it still broke into 4 individual pieces. So, I focused on this cigar trying to get it finished up. After the ordeal with the stars I decided to mix some silver rub-n-buff and 5-minute epoxy and fill the stars with that instead. I have received some critisism for cheating, but it still turned out OK to me.

Masonic Inlay Pen. My first attempt at an inlay. The scroll work below the hinge is filled with brass shavings.

Good looking pens! Just me, but I like silver, or the like on the flag kits. Your idea of epoxy for the stars is what makes us all cool turners...adapt and overcome!

hi
spackle? like the dry-wall repair stuff? it dries ok and stays solid while finishing? How about sanding? i would think it would run white power as it got sanded.
