Made this Rhodium and Ebonite Emperor for my wife's boss. He gave her an early bonus so we could buy a house. first pen I have been able to turn in ayear.

You did a great job on that pen Dave, if it has been a year you haven't lost anything. Black Ebonite is one of the hardest materials I have worked with to get all the turn marks out, congrates. Don't let it be as long next time

Thanks for the kind words. I love the look of black ebonite with silver components. This was turned between centers on a Taig lathe using a shovel nosed hss cutter. Finish was 400, 600, Micro Mesh to 12000, Novus #2, Novus polish. It had a grey cast when I finished but that faded overnight. I will post pics of the Live and dead centers I turned for the Taig next week
