I'm sure this little Trident Pen ain't much compaired with most of the work shown around here, but, thought I'd show it off any who.
I just got a box of my first Curly Maple. I've never even seen this stuff before much less worked with it. This is my first attempt turning it and I think it came out OK. I love the way that it has that 3D look too.

That is nice looking blank... I have a whole board that a local guy gave me that was 'scrap' to him... I think it's thick enough to turn into pen blanks. This guy makes gun stocks for the muzzle loaders and offered me some of his scrap... the maple is about 8 or 10 inches wide and about 3 or 4 feet long and near 1 inch or so thick... still has bark on the edges.. haven't done anything with it yet and have had it over a year. after seeing this, I definitely need to work this up.
