First Closed and and Stand

After looking at all the cool things the experts on this board are doing, I wanted to try a closed end. Small investment on my part-extra slimeline and a scrap piece of cherry. The ring on the stand matches the slimline--it's a shower curtain ring.

One question I have. I used gorilla glue and some oozed out of the stand (back side of the picture). Is there any good way to remove it other then picking at it?

Edit: just noticed>should be "First Closed End" not "First Closed and"
