First Closed End Pen

Well, I bought the mandrel and a DVD, watched it a few times and decided to try my hand at a closed end Jr Gentlemen pen. Not half as bad as I thought it was going to be.

NOW, I'm starting to get hooked on pen making! I can't wait for May, when I will attend a demo on crafting the "wave pen".

I can see it now... a segmented wave closed end pen, hand dipped in lacquer... with green ink! I think the fun is just starting!

Nice looking pen. I've turned a few closed end, but need to get that mandrel out again.

Yes, it is pink ivory. I really like the way it turns, probably the easiest and softest wood I have turned to date.
