My first try at a Cigar pen. Made these two yesterday...

#1 is Spalted Maple that I got from Bryant - very nice wood - on a Ti Gold Cigar.

#2 is Curly Maple on a Black Ti Cigar. The wood was saved from the remnants of a HUGE Maple that was cut down and [:0] cut up for firewood! [:0] Ouch!

Thanks folks.

Bryant sent me some gorgeous Spalted Maple blanks. That one is typical of the lot.

The Curly Maple was from a thin slab a friend gave me. The piece had been drying in his attic for several years. Never saw any wood where the bark was so firmly attached. Couldn't pass up a chance to try to use it. I actually wanted to include a bit more bark, but I still have a bit left to experiment with.

And I like the 'Pinto" name. (Now why didn't I think of that?)
