First Cigar Band

First Cigar band pen. Sierra dressed out with Spanish Cedar and gold hardware.

This is the only project that made it out of the shop yesterday.

Started making a pen case for the wife's Christmas. :biggrin: And routed inserts for more cigar box cases.

So, as my wife noted: I kicked up a lot of saw dust for just one pen. She'll just have to wait to know the rest of the story. :biggrin:

After sanding, I cleaned the blank with denatured alcahol. A light coat of thin CA, then work the band in place (trimed an ear on the band). Three coats of thin CA to level. After that dried, light sanding then three coats of medium CA.

Wet sanded from 800 grit through 12000mm, Plastix, and a coat of Kiwi wax.

Finishing time was about 50% longer than my normal CA finish.
