first cigar

I haven't made much lately but I wanted to make something special for a good friend's birthday that happens to smoke cigars. I have been intrigued with the Cigar Illusion pens by MartinPens. I work at a golf course and found a cigar band, in perfect condition, in a cart … figured it was a sign for me to get off my fat you know what and give it a try …so here is my first attempt. All comments / suggestions are welcome.

FIG wood (found in garage) … at first I thought is was buckeye burl, but to tell the truth I'm not sure what it is, however it is the last scrap I had …
