Hello, I tried my first Celtic Knot a few weeks ago. The pen was a special request from one of my best friends who is signing for his first house. He asked me to make him something special, so I made him my first Celtic Knot. I am happy with the results.

The wood is Babinga with aluminum and maple inlay.
Finished with multiple coats of thin CA.

Nice work...I really like the aluminum that was used. I've seen others that have used it too and I really want to explore using it, copper and brass.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

I learned real quick with the aluminum that you can't sand it or buff it out before applying a finish. The aluminum will stain everything, especially the maple.

I had to make a clean pass with a sharp skew. Then apply the CA finish.
