first casting

I'm still not sure if it's the way I want to go, but I had to try. I like what I want to do, I just don't like the end results, but this is my first one....it is a clear with brass curl's from the brass casings when I make bullet pens. I never toss the shavings. so, there are bubbles, air pockets, chips and not enough brass. what do you think?

Neat idea Laurie! Looks like gold flower petals in there. Do you have a pressure pot set up? That should help with the bubbles.

It is hard to tell from your photo, did you polish your brass tubes? How would it have look it you would have painted the inside of your blank gold after you drilled your hole? Just some more ideas to throw out there, nice work on your pen.[^]

About the only thing this needs is a little colour added so you don't see the brass tubes. Other than that it looks great.

Very nice! I think black or maybe silver painted blanks would make a huge difference with only the amount of brass you have there already.
