finally picked up a pressure pot and this was the results of my first cast. this was done with a 2 component epoxy but i just picked up some polyester resin on the weekend so the next will be done with that.
blue pigment, mica powder and pearlescent powder. (on an atrax rollerball, shoulda been a fountain pen but i ordered the wrong kit, i might change it)

i love how it turned out. i hope the pictures do it justice. it looks like a cloudy sky with metallic flecks

Nice. Hoping to try pouring a couple blanks this evening when I get home this evening myself.

PR - make sure you are casting in a WELL ventilated area. and that it can't vent into your living space. (I'll never bring another can of the stuff into my house (shop is in the basement)).

Looks great Marc! So how do you like casting? What did you learn from the process? What's next on the learning curve?

The first thing I learned is that it is incredibly frustrating to get a brand new pressure pot to your workshop and not have the fittings you need and all you can do is stare at it. As far as the learning curve I guess the polyester resin I bought should take care of that. But I'm really looking forward to it.
