first burl

'i turned a burl and i liked it' sorry had a katy perry moment. so first burl. maple i might be hooked. picked up the blank and put it back down at the store 4 times. heard too many horror stories of them exploding. then getting my kits the guy asked what wood i'm using, we chat and he is holding a maple burl sierra. so went back and grabbed the blank. it was a stabilized burl so that helped. stopped to hone my tool every time it started to chatter. said a little prayer which can't hurt.

sanded to 600, 12 coats thin ca, mm, mothers polish, waxed. (man now i'm starting to talk like you guys)
