First attempt at a kitless

Couple of firsts on this one
-first time turning metal
-first time threading
-first kitless
-and first pen post

Overall I learned a slew of things including why collett chucks are helpful, a need to be more mindful of planning and measuring and lastly man I want a metal lathe.

What size threads did you use for cap-to-body ?

I assume the body unscrews into two parts in order to replace refill ... what threads there ?

Mal in regards to your questions. The cap to body thread is a single start m12 x .75 and the body uses a m10 x 1.

Curly it was 6061 aluminum and here is the pic you requested.

Terry eventually I want to make myself a fountain pen but I've got a large amount of research to do first. I'm a bit confused as to what pieces I need to purchase and the assembly. So time to dig into the library to better understand nibs and feeds. From there I guess I'll try to figure out bock, jowo or heritance nibs.
