These were my first attempts at acrylics. Turned out better than the pictures. All comments welcome. On the Sierra Elegant from Berea. Black titanium and gold. Sanded to 12000 MM then Renaissance Wax. All comments and critiques welcome.

Randy, you have a couple of very good looking pens there. The fit and finish is spot on. congratulations on a job well done.

Nice job Dad! Those look great! Looks like i taught you well!!! LOL!!

Just kidding. Those are some great looking feathers! I have a feather blank that i got from Mesquite man a while back that i have turned but dont have the kit for, so maybe some day i can say that i have made a feather pen.

Saw your post the about the celtic knot to you tried to. Nice job for giving it a shot, but you know what they say, no pis didnt happen. I have still to try it, but will give it a shot some day.

OK first, I got the good looking feather blanks from SOCDAD. Must give credit where due. Great looking blanks. Now for the ugly, here are the celtic knots I tried. They were done with a couple of Jack Daniels blanks and slices of Hawaiian Pheasant wood blanks. I have LOTS of practice to do here. The short one, For some reason unknown, I only cut at a 30 degree angle. That's why it is all pushed together. Also since it was done, the wood has cracked on the blank. Must not have gotten it glued good. The tall one had the right 45 degree angles but not placed accurately. That's why the open spaces are not equal. Still lot's to learn for sure. Thanks for looking.

hey I am still trying to learn to make a good knot too. I spent half a day yesterday trying to keep one with copper inserts together only to have it blow apart when I got really close to finished size. All I can say is keep working on it and it will surely happen.
