Okay - I am sure some of you will be familiar with the troubles I have had recently with getting pens finished successfully. Well, I finally go it.

I have the threads with the issues I had at the bottom.

Anyway, this is a Big Ben Cigar - Gold with Gun Metal, Black Walnut. 12 coats of CA. It is just, well, gorgeous in my opinion. Here are the pics  (PS sorry about the pictures, I made a temp photo booth until I build my new one and was having problems.)

Now for the threads with my issues:

CA grabbing towel particles, etc: http://www.penturners.org/forum/f28/not-sure-why-my-ca-finishing-91289/

Big Ben Failures: http://www.penturners.org/forum/f13/first-3-cigars-3-tragedies-3-giveaways-not-56k-friendly-91552/

The solution was my glue was old. I didn't have a single problem with fresh glue!

Very nice looking Big BenCigar. Finsih looks good
Thanks :)

Yup, gorgeous is the word for it. We neglect walnut, but it sure looks good when we use it. Did you do a satin finish or is it the lighting?
I love walnut. I use it every chance I get. As a matter of fact when I make teachers pens I use walnut for the black ink side. As for finish - that is the lighting in my pictures. It is a high gloss finish but I couldn't get the lighting right to show that.

Nicely done.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of walnut pens, but I'm still like the look.
Like I said to Robert - I love it, I use it every chance I get. I have probably 200 blanks worth of walnut  After this Spring - I will have an entire tree worth. (Black Walnut at my parents died so I am going to make use of it
