I finally got around to trying one of those checkered pens. This one is a Cigar Pen made from Cherry and Black Walnut. Hope you like.

If I could change your pen at all I would use brighter, or more contrasting colors since you went through so much trouble, however the skill is obvious and you made it look good!
Instead of 4 square segments, what if the pen could have more segments, like some of the bowls I've seen, and with veneers in between??
