Just thought I would finally post some recent pens of mine.

This one is my first attempt at using BLO/CA. I honestly think I get better results with just CA. I'll probably continue to use BLO as a first layer, but not in a mixture with CA.

And here are 2 photos of my first pen I've made with rattlesnake skin blanks...

Feel free to be critical, etc...

Both pens look good. I like to use BLO first and then the CA,it just works better for me. I'm getting to like the snake skin pens better because of good ones like yours. Good work [8D]

Gerrit,
That's the same as the "should the grain line up when posted or capped" question - the concensus here has been that it is bascially a personal preference issue.

Hi Geritt...I'm partial to the cigar pen...Very handsome. I found the same thing...that a base of BLO to pop the color and then CA seems to give me the finish I'm after. Seems like the combo is a bit duller....Although, some might think that's preferable.
