It's been too long since I've posted any new work. Mainly bc I haven't been able to do anything in my shop for the past 2+ months. I was in the middle of rearranging the shop when I hurt my back during that process. I couldn't do anything for a long long time. Could barely walk some days. The nerve pain has been gone for a little over a week now and I finally felt up to turning some pens .

All these pics were taken with my new fancy camera. I'm still learning it but I think these came out really well. There's a TON of pics to follow so sorry for any lengthy loading times.

All the blanks were cast by me.

Thanks for looking! As always comments/critiques are welcomed and appreciated! How do yall think the pics came out?

Glad to see your back at it! It looks like you have lost your touch!
Hope your back issue continues to improve.

Thanks everyone! It was good to get back in the swing of things. Now that I can sit or stand in one spot longer than 10mins it's time to start casting again! These were all extras I had laying around. Being idle for 2 months has me wanting to try out some new ideas and color combos....so stay tuned!

Really hard to choose a favorite they are all awesome, but the Art Deco sure stands out. Glad you are feeling better and up to making pens again, missed seeing them!!

Jonathon,
You certainly have set the standard for many people who turn pens. They look great. Looking forward to seeing you whenever you can get away.

Thanks again everyone! I was really happy with how everything went.

Great looking pens, though I believe your pics need a bit more light.

Thanks Grant, I agree. I have some lights that came with a photo tent I bought (don't use it though, don't like it) but they don't do the job I'd like them too. So I'm sourcing some new lights. These were taken with just the overhead light and no flash, pretty good still.

Good looking photos, as well as superb pens, of course! What's your fancy new camera?

Thanks Robert. My new camera is a Sony A390 DSLR. I've got ALOT to learn about it but so far it's pretty user friendly for a novice of these types of cameras.

Good to hear the back is better. BEWARE of re-injuring. My physical therapist described the back a mess waiting to happen and a bad injury takes a HUGE amount of time to heal completely. Nailed mine two years ago and reinjured it twice since then each time it took less to injure it. PT told me to quit being an idiot and let things heal and do my excercises.

Still nice photos, yes. I personally use a Yongnuo e-ttl flash and a 6 head floor lamp with 6500k CFL's. Works well IMO. The flash cost a bit, but sell a couple of those pens and you will easily afford it.
