First I showed him how to turn. He hadn't used a lathe before. Then I had him make the slimline. It's white oak from a Jack Daniel's blank. Finished with HUT wax and Friction Polish. Second one is a bronze cigar with Coolabah we turned and I showed him a CA finish. He had a great time with this.

Well tell you FIL he did outstanding on both. You are lucky to have FIL that will take an interest in what you do and enjoy it. I wasn't so lucky. I bet he is real proud of them, and he should be. You should be also, you taught him.
