This is a piece of very figured English Walnut and it is, thus far, the nicest piece of walnut I've turned.
After turning and sanding, I did a final round of sanding with 600 grit, wet sanding it with a little bit of a mix of BLO/mineral spirits/shellac. After letting that cure for a week, I then applied a CA finish as I normally would. Chrome Cigar kit.
