I turned a few yesterday. Sierras consisting of my homebrew castings (amboyna and alumilite), blue mahoe and a piece of wood that a friend gave me-told me it was extremely rare and being the new turner I am, couldn't appreciate the dusty looking little Chittam wood blank he gave me-until I turned it! And thank you for it-you know who you are! Now I know why people do chimpanzee flips over it!

few more

This group of pens is what relatively cheap blanks can do. Both of the Sierras were from El Mostro's "discounted" blanks. Not sure what they are-the blue one looked like a bunch of small dowels. The baron is my first fountain pen and out of a nice piece of mesquite-courtesy of Bill Bombeck at AZ silhouette and is one of his "gimme" blanks that he puts in the box-thanks Bill!

Thanks for the nice comments-if you ever get a chance to turn some chittam or smoke wood jump on it-the pictures don't do it justice.
