First blanks to come out of some melamine molds. It's nice having 5 blanks instead of the 1-2 I make when I use PVC. (don't want to deal with 20 pvc tubes...)

Super job on the casts as well as the turning/finishing of the pens!
I think the blue is my favorite!

Also, I need to order some of the Caballeros pens. I like that there is no black plastic showing on these.

Those are very nice. I can't decide if I like the blue or red better. I have a few questions. What are melamine molds, and what pigments are you using?

I normally use PVC, but I'm open to try something else.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, there's so much more to learn.

The blue/white is my favorite one.
I poured the red one a bit too soon, so between that and trying to create the swirls in the mold I lost some of the color separation.

They are the same as the flat cutting board molds, but with melamine boards instead of HDPE. Think of cheap white cabinets / shelves with the "plastic" coating to them. I had an old shelf laying around that I cut up.

The pigments the Casting Craft dyes that I picked up at Michael's. The green one is pearl-ex powder, and I think i added some green alumilite dye because I didn't have enough pearlex to get it right.
