Received this feather blank from Jeff (Socdad). An absolute dream to turn. No chipping, just ribbons of joy! I love this blank. Comments welcome.

Wow, beautiful blank, and very nice execution on the pen. It is pure joy when you get ribbons like that, isn't it?

Absolutely! Makes it all worth while. I have had some where I was really had my nose to the grindstone, er, my skew turning a blank, tongue out, and all of a sudden, wham, a chunk goes flying! This one turned perfect all the way!

Very nice (to both of you). Ive turned about a hundred feather pens and still get a little cautious with the tools. Im always happy to switch to sand paper to shape it. Then again Ive gotten a few too hot and melted the resin right off. lol Your work paid off. Thats a beauty!

Thank you! Basically skew down to size. I then start sanding down to 600 and MM to 12000. I use Mequires polishing compound then Mequires Plastic Polish.
That's my method on acrylics.
Very nice looking pen. What is your finishing method if you don't mind me asking?
