Hey All

Had a few spare hours on the 23rd so I figured I would try something different.

I've seen people enhance Purpleheart with a blow torch, but I wondered how dark I could get the edges while leaving a streak of purple in the middle. I made 2 Euro Round tops, (one gold and one gunmetal), and an Atrax Fountain Pen in gunmetal. I finished with 3 coats of thin CA and 8 coats of Medium CA, then buffed to a glass finish.

I absolutely love the finished product. They are all going out as Christmas gifts:

hope they all do not end up looking like the ends. It is always a gamble when dealing with woods that change colors with UV light and age. They do look nice.:):)
