I purchased some 1/8" thick x 1/2" wide acrylic discs from ebay. Glued them together with some burl wood on the ends and made the body for this bolt action. I turned it and applied several layers of CA glue. I will try it again with some other colors and see if I can make it a little straighter. It was a good first try.

It also looks better in person.

Thanks for posting this idea !

Your pen looks pretty good and the idea has considerable potential !!

Doesn`t look crooked to me . Really like the red and blue , but to me the white is a bit too bright .

Watch out for the cat hairs when applying CA . It is very irritating to find one under several coats of CA after assembling a pen .

Excellent Concept and Execution Butch,
Great Match of the Acrylic and Burl, though I would like to see the Burl sections, the same thickness. But that is just my "Matching Desire".
Nicely turned and Finished.
Congratulations,
Brian.
