Default Exemplar and Sienna in PR

Finally found a couple of hours to spend on the lathe over the weekend. Poured the PR and PearlEx blank a couple months ago and was able to get two pens from it. The Exemplar was backpainted silver in an attempt to match the antique silver hardware. The Sienna was backpainted black and the color seems to pop much more vividly, even though it doesn’t show as much in the photos. As soon as the wife saw the Sienna, she laid claim to it and I happily obliged. As long as I keep her happy, maybe she’ll let me continue turning!

Took a moment to figure out how to rotate the photos, but finally got it.

Very nice! I know what you mean about black making the colors pop more. Unless I’m using a blank with white in it, I backpaint with black probably 90% of the time. I think it shows off the colors more.
