One set is Zebra and the other is Mesquite. Do you think the Zebra is too busy?

Hi Terry,

Nice pens. The Executive is one of my favorite pens - not necessarily for how it looks, but I like the size and feel when writing. It is handy to carry in a pocket. As you know, there is very little of the wood left once the blank is turned down to size on this pen. Which tells me that your segmented glue jobs are done pretty well. At least in my experience, the thinner I get with a segmented blank, the greater the chance of a poorly glued segment letting go.

To answer your question, the zebra does seem a but busy. Your serpentines show off very well on a consistent/plane background (although I think something curly would be real nice).

Interesting question... The more I look at them, I do think the Zebra is too contrasting.

Your blanks are beautiful, and a more "uniform" blank will not detract from the segmenting.

However, they all are beautiful... I favor the Mesquite.
