Mike,
I bought a series of the Tapa and Pacifica pens from Woodpenpro.. first impression was I didn't like them, but after I turned a few, have come to love them as pen kits... easy to turn and they make incredible pens..... just like yours.

You'll only notice the sore thumb when you try to grip something, or when you bump it, or when you roll over on it in your sleep, or try to button your shirt, etc.............
doesn't seem to affect your turning skills though.
