Default European Filigree Clay Pen

Getting my personal set ready for the up coming Midwest Penturners Gathering. Just need some earrings and a bracelet and I'll be set.

This to date has been my most challenging design and pen to make.
Not having a lathe to help get the correct diameters to fit into the center band (upper barrel) I had to hand carve the clay to fit it correctly. Eventually I got it & am super happy with the results.
Hand sanded and polished the clay, no fillers or finish for the shine.

Well done Melanie. (Sheesh, you need a lathe - even a cheepie!). I look forward to your demo in Chicago.

Thank you so much Mark.
Yes Sir I do, I am slowly but surely working on saving for one, it will make things so much easier. I can try so many new designs I have ideas for.
For now my hands & tissue blades will have to suffice.
I am very much looking forward to the demo and to see all the other demo's take place, I have a lot to learn in the way of tools and such, so it will be an amazing experience for me and am very grateful to be apart of.

Your clay art is just an amazing thing to me. The flowers look real, the colors and blending are just beautiful.

I have a couple blanks to polish and make pens, but often I am stopped in my tracks just to sit and marvel at them.

They truly are 'creative' canes!!

Thank you so much Michael, that's so kind of you to say.
Once you have them all shined up you will love the smooth shiny finish on them, makes them pop and if you have any 3D flowers (like the roses), they will come alive after a good shine.

Thank you Chris, I hope I can give a good amount of info in the time allotted, I could go on forever about clay and it's possibilities.
